Response of Helvetic Clinics

This is what HC managed to send to the patients more than three weeks after the initial leaks.


Dear Patient,

We regret to inform you that Helvetic Clinics has been attacked by hackers. In the absence of expertise within our company, we have hired an external IT consultant to assess the damage.
It appears that our patients’ personal data, including names, addresses, e-mails, credit card numbers and medical information could have been obtained by the hackers.
There is no need to panic. Please be reassured that we do our utmost to handle the situation. At this stage, it is not necessary to involve the Hungarian police.
However, as a precaution, we advise you to report this security incident to your bank in order to prevent any fraud involving your credit card number.
There have been ill-founded allegations in the social media about Helvetic Clinics. We wish to seize this opportunity to clarify certain questions.
Contrary to rumours (https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=helvetic+clinics+scandal), we are a registered EU (Hungarian) company, all our dentists have a diploma, and we are working on obtaining an ISO certificate.
Helvetic Clinics has an excellent reputation. We have invested a lot of money in reaching the best rankings. Most of our patient testimonials are from real patients.
All Helvetic Clinics patients receive a genuine invoice upon payment. Due to a human error some patients paying in cash might have received an irregular invoice. As we have explained in our previous e-mail, these documents should not be used for claiming reimbursement from your health insurance fund (mutuel). Upon request, we will send you authentic invoice at the earliest convenience. It is unnecessary to involve the tax authority. Of course, this administrative mistake does not affect the guarantee offered by Helvetic Clinics.
Our lawyer, Mr Etienne Mouthon (+41 ...) will be happy to discuss all your concerns related to this matter.
We apologise for the inconvenience this incident might have causes. Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate contacting us by phone.
Our staff is working day and night to bring our operation back to normal. Despite of the extraordinary circumstances all scheduled appointments will be honoured.
In order to express our appreciation for your understanding in these difficult times, we are happy to offer you free accommodation during your treatment in Budapest.

Le début du scandale

Une histoire intéressante se déroule autour d’une clinique dentaire relativement nouvelle en Hongrie qui prétend être suisse. Voici un bref résumé de ce qui s'est produit jusqu'ici. Il ressort de centaines de courriels divulgués par des whistleblowers que la plupart de l'histoire prétendue de Helvetic Clinics est une pure fiction. Contrairement à ce qu’on pourrait croire sur la base de son nom et de l’article sur Wikipedia (rédigé par ses directeurs), Helvetic Clinics n'est pas une chaîne de cliniques, mais une seule clinique en Hongrie qui prétend être suisse. Il est maintenant clair que sa dentisterie ne respecte pas les normes suisses. La question se pose si Helvetic Clinics est conforme à quelconque norme. Ses références se sont révélées fausses. Der Anfang des Skandals

Die Geschichte handelt von einer relativ neuen Zahnklinik in Ungarn, die behauptet, eine Schweizer Klinik zu sein. Dies ist eine kurze Zusammenfassung dessen, was bisher passiert ist. Aus Hunderten von E-Mails, die von Hinweisgebern geschrieben worden sind, geht hervor, dass die meisten der Helvetic Clinics reine Fiktion sind. Im Gegensatz zu dem, was der Name und  dem Wikipedia-Eintrag entspricht, sind Helvetic Clinics keine Kette von Kliniken, sondern eine einzige Klinik in Ungarn, die vorgibt, eine Schweizer Klinik zu sein. Es ist nun klar, dass Ihre Dental-Klinik nicht unter Schweizer Standards fällt. Die Frage ist nun, ob Helvetic Cilnics überhaupt einen Standard erfüllt. Ihre Glaubwürdigkeit hat sich als falsch erwiesen. Helvetic Clinics behauptet, ein ISO-Zertifikat zu haben. Es ist nicht wahr. Symptomatisch, indem man auf das ISO-Logo auf ihren Webseiten klickt , kommt der Besucher auf die ISO-Website, anstatt auf ein wirklich vorhandenes Zertifikat. Dies ist nicht korrekt....
